What role do plants play in nature and human life?

Due to the fast pace of life, I always miss the moment when green leaves begin to bloom on the trees. Not only does all the vegetation give a blooming look to any city, it also has a lot of benefits. And to be more precise, we simply could not exist if there were no plants.

Plants and nature

Ever since school lessons, everyone should remember that it is plants that provide us with oxygen. And this happens thanks to a special green pigment - chlorophyll. It is he who makes the leaves green. Plants release oxygen when chlorophyll interacts with the sun's rays. This process is called photosynthesis.

Every year, plants provide the Earth with enough oxygen to breathe for all life on the planet. They also reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by absorbing it. This at least slightly helps to improve the ecological situation, which develops due to the active economic activity of man.

In addition, it is thanks to various kinds of plants that organic substances are formed. It is not at all a secret that the fertility of the soil depends on their number. Plants, dying, saturate it with all the necessary nutrients. And, of course, they are important for herbivorous animals, for which the main food source is the leaves and bark of various trees. Their entire diet consists of vegetation of different species.

The value of the plant world in human life

Plants are involved in almost every area of our lives. We need them for:

  • breathing;
  • nutrition;
  • the manufacture of medicines;
  • clothing production;
  • industrial purposes.

It is thanks to various cereals, vegetables and fruits that the human body receives the necessary amount of important nutrients that it is not able to get enough of, for example, from meat or milk.

In addition, various paper materials and paints are obtained from plants. It is difficult to imagine what would have remained in our lives if plants had not been used by man in many areas of his activity.
