The role of furniture in an ancient person was performed by an ordinary animal skin. On it he slept, ate, put his modest belongings into it. For the first time, furniture familiar to us appeared more than 4000 years ago. In those days in ancient Egypt, people already used tables and chairs, and they put things in large chests.

Previously, rich people decorated their furniture with intricate carvings, gilding, and precious stones. Such furniture was a real work of art and was very expensive.
