The Savelovskaya Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office opened criminal cases against four employees of the Moscow Automobile and Road Institute (MADI).

The head of the department "Machine Parts and Theory of Mechanisms" Dr. pedagogical sciences, Professor Maria Karelina, Deputy Dean of the Correspondence Faculty of MADI Ekaterina Pulina (she also holds the position of Assistant Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies of MADI) and former Vice-Rector for economic activity, head of the department Alexander Chubukov. All of them are charged under article 159 part 4 (“Fraud”).

According to the prosecution, they were trying to get illegal rewards for allegedly touring schools and colleges, attracting applicants to MADI. The deceit was revealed while trying to get 5.5 million rubles from the institute's cash desk under a fake obligation: the defendants said that they were entitled to a percentage of the money that students pay for education.

The fourth employee of MADI - the head of the Department of Transportation Installations, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Alexander Sova, is suspected of forging documents - a criminal case was initiated against him under the relevant article 327. By the way, the scientist had a secret form of admission No. 2 (among other things, he worked in the field of space technologies), which made it difficult to travel abroad (permits were needed from the FSB of the Russian Federation, the rector).
